| Lingotot - French for Babies and Toddlers (Educational) | |
Time: 13:00:00 to 13:50:00 Location: Whickham Community Centre Research suggests that children who know two languages can gain a cognitive, academic and social edge over those who speak only one. The best time for your child to start learning another language is during the critical early years when it’s completely natural to them. There are many expensive books and DVDs which claim to “teach” your child a second language, but nothing beats the real thing. Lingotot exposes children aged 6 months to 4 years to new language through stories, songs, games and play in French. Classes are interactive and fun, designed to expose you and your child to French in a friendly and relaxed environment. Sessions are led by an experienced, fully qualified modern foreign languages teacher. Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer at all times, and don’t worry, no previous knowledge of French is required; you only speak if you want to! Come to Lingotot and join in the fun! In January this year I opened the 'Ucan Weight Loss Support Group' and the weight loss is fabulous. When joining the group, Ucan follow any healthy eating programme you wish. We hold a meeting every week to discuss how well people are doing or if struggling we will help out. I hold meetings every Monday night from 6-7pm at Elim Church, Durham Road and from 6-7pm at St Aidens Church Hall, Grangetown. Prices are £2.50. | Welcome to The Jungle (Theatre)
Time: 19:30:00 to 22:00:00 Location: Arts Centre Washignton Washignton Theatre Groups Presents WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE by John Seymour A quartet of one-act plays by local writer John Seymour, under the umbrella title of Welcome to the Jungle. The title reflects the fact that the plays are set in a modern city environment – an urban jungle – and that all of them relate to some aspect of modern life. Each play is different in style, tone and content, and this helps to provide a very varied experience both for the group and its members, and for the audience. This makes the whole show at times dark, silly, serious, satirical and moving, through incorporation of drama, comedy and musical performance. These plays have been written over a period of several years for several different purposes, but they come together well in making this complete show. Booking Number - 0191 219 3455 TICKETS - £3 Contains strong language and adult themes. May not be suitable for children under 12 Years of age. Additional Information
| A Victorian Murder Tour (Ghost Walk) | |
Time: 19:30:00 to 21:00:00 Location: The Bridge Hotel Newcastle He came silently out of the Dean Street shadows of November 26th, 1886. Watching, Stalking, Waiting drink-sodden with a want for murder. Leaving a lifeless prostitute dead with her throat sliced. Yes, something wicked this way walked, for this is the slashing ground of the Dean Street Killer. We evoke that winter of gas light and fog, of menacing shadows and stealthy footsteps - as we inspect the murder sites, sift through the evidence - in all its gory detail - and get to grips, so to speak, with the main suspects. Afterward you can steady your nerves in The Red House, pub where the victims once worked as lady's of the night and spent time - perhaps with the Killer himself. Additional Information
